Our Head Chef Samantha Dupuis has done an amazing job raising over £350 for charities including The Autistic Society, Macmillan and Bury Hospice.

We waved a fond farewell to Dr Peter Marshall after nearly 5 years although the door is open for holiday cover which is great. We welcomed Dr Deepak Gupta who has come highly recommended, hitting the ground running with clinical handover and new assessments for us on The Hamptons.

We welcomed Derek to our service, our very own black Labrador who has been going out on regular walks with patients and is a very popular addition.

There has been a significant increase in take up of therapeutic earnings in the kitchen, admin and maintenance departments which has seen greater engagement and independence.

Healthwatch visited us earlier in the year and gave us a clean bill of health all round and Investors in People are happy for our continued Gold standards and said we’re on target for platinum in 2020.

Whilst our Care Quality Commission inspector has recently engaged with us at The Hamptons and has been pleased to see we continue to deliver the service in line with our outstanding rating.

Outstanding Rating

Looking ahead to 2019

We are busy preparing for our next inspection on Brookhaven and are striving towards an Outstanding Rating. We continue to work through our Champions Clinical and Therapeutic improvement model having just completed milestone 2 of 5. Part of milestone 3 will be looking at further roll out of our electronic systems for medication management and care planning.

2019 will see us introduce our Going Green objectives and the team have already generated a number of ideas which we will be implementing during the year.

And last but not least, we’re having a party!!! We will be celebrating early in 2019 as Active Pathways reaches the grand old age of 15 – a huge achievement for all the team, I am sure you’ll agree.
